What is RMSS?

RMSS Scope CentralThe Rocky Mountain Star Stare (RMSS) is an annual premiere star party sponsored by the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society. Held every summer, RMSS has been one of the nation’s premier star parties for the last 30 years. RMSS annually hosts 350+ amateur and professional astronomers and is located southwest of Colorado Springs between the Sangre de Cristo and Wet mountain ranges at 7,612 feet above sea level just outside of Gardner, CO.

We offer a truly amazing experience for individuals of all ages and all skill levels (beginners to experts) who are looking for an educational, astronomical related, outdoor activity in a pristine outdoor Colorado environment.

Enjoy high-caliber  speakers, outdoor activities, camping among friends and appreciate  the clear, dark skies of Colorado.  Also, check out our photo gallery from last year’s event.

It only takes a couple of minutes.  Register today!
